There are thresholds for recycling and energy recovery of wood waste. In Germany, the ordinance of 2002 sets thresholds for recycling but there are also thresholds indicated in EPF’s specifications. French regulations set thresholds for defining fuels that can be assimilated to biomass. Below these thresholds, wood waste can be burned under the same conditions as biomass. Above, except in the case of waste disposal, it is the regulations that apply to waste, ie co-incineration. The Finnish regulation, based on the ISO 17 225 standard, proposes fairly comparable thresholds. Should we set the same thresholds for energy and recycling?
