During its launching the platform was functioning with Working groups (WGs): WG1: Communications, Networking and Policy Liaison: responsible for concentration of resources and communication with investors, supervising the development of the networks of stakeholders on local, regional, national and international levels and facilitating their access to the platform and its activities; Service WG2: End user policy; Service WG3: Technology Transfer, Start-up Support, Commercialization and IP Management: close interaction with the thematic groups and offers its services to all members of the platform in order to promote all forms of knowledge- and technology transfer. Thematic groups: Wood waste to energy, Wood waste to materials, etc. At the end of BioReg project the WGs were transformed into Groups of interest, as follows:

3. Wood waste to materials
4. Wood waste to energy
5. Safety and Security
6. European Market
7. Other
The goal of the existence of such e-groups would be to launch discussions on common initiatives and projects. Each group will involve companies, research entities or other which are operating on the national level in the respective region as well other European counterparts.
